A Thorough, 90-Minute Consultation
Unlike rushed visits you may have experienced in the past, your first appointment with us lasts 90 minutes. This extended time ensures that your provider gets to know you as a whole person and understands a complete picture of your health, rather than just addressing isolated symptoms. This appointment is the basis upon which your provider will decide which labs are needed to determine the root cause of your symptoms!
During your first appointment, you and your provider will review:
- Your full health history, including chronic conditions, past illnesses, and any treatments you’ve tried.
- Any recent lab work from the past 3-6 months. If you’ve had testing done elsewhere, send or upload your labs before your appointment (include video link of how to do this), or bring your results to your appointment, as this helps us identify patterns and avoid unnecessary repeats.
- Your current symptoms and concerns. Your provider will have an in-depth discussion with you to better understand what has helped, what hasn’t, and any patterns you’ve noticed over time.
Be Prepared to Answer In-Depth, Specific Questions!
Our providers take a functional approach to health, which means we don’t just ask whether you have digestive issues—we ask for details. Come prepared to discuss specifics about your symptoms, such as:
- Digestion: How often do you have bowel movements? Are they loose, formed, painful, or irregular? Do you experience bloating, gas, or discomfort?
- Sleep: Do you fall asleep easily? Stay asleep through the night? Wake up feeling rested?
- Energy levels: Do you experience afternoon crashes, brain fog, or sluggishness throughout the day?
- Hormonal health: Have you noticed changes in your cycle, mood swings, or symptoms that fluctuate throughout the month?
- Diet and nutrition: What foods make you feel your best or your worst? Any known sensitivities or cravings?
- Stress & self-care: What’s your daily life like? What stressors do you have on your plate, and what works for you to cope with those stressors?
